FOUNDER'S DAY 2008
T. A. Pai Management
Institute, in its Silver Jubilee year,
celebrated its Founder’s Day in memory of Shri T. A. Pai, the founder.
On this occasion the 25th T. A. Pai Memorial Lecture was
delivered by Mr Arun Maira, Chairman, Boston Consulting Group, India.
The Director of T. A. Pai
Management Institute, Dr. D Nagabrahmam delivered the welcome address. The
Chairman of TAPMI Governing Council, Shri K K Pai, recapitulated his
experiences with late Shri T. A. Pai and identified him as one of the
leading visionaries and leaders of his time. The Chief Guest, Mr Arun Maira
was introduced by Dr. Nagabrahmam as a ‘Thought Leader’ and one who finds
time from busy schedule to write books and articles on Inclusive
Management and Sustainable Growth.
Mr Arun Maira spoke on the topic of the
evening, “Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development” giving references
from international authors and professors across the academic diaspora. Mr
Maira emphasized on the need for new models by developing economies today to
bring about sustainable development. India has immense opportunity in terms
of intellect and growth and can be the laboratory of the world for
innovative and sustainable solutions. He urged the institute to think ahead
of its time, aim according to its vision and bring about new solutions for
all the three segments of the society – economic, social and environmental.
His light hearted and insightful speech was
enjoyed by the students, faculty and guests alike. The Long Service Award
for the institute’s employees was also presented on this occasion.
The event was concluded with a Cultural
Programme presented by the students of the institute and children of faculty
members. |
