Working in TAPMI since 1986. He has been awarded with Ph.D. degree from Mangalore University during 2002 for his research study on "Quality of Library and Information Services: A study of Customer Satisfaction in Academic Libraries". He organized a AICTE sponsored national seminar on "Challenges in delivering Quality Services in Management and Technical Libraries" on April 25-26, 2003. Allied publishers, Chennai, have published the edited version of papers presented during the seminar as book. He successfully completed a Govt. of India sponsored research project on " Impact of technology on quality of services in technical and Management libraries in Karnataka" awarded by department of scientific and industrial research (DSIR) Under TIFP scheme. The final report has been submitted to DSIR during February 2007 with recommendations for action plans. Currently he is jointly working with Prof. Simon George for the international conference on Services Management      

Started his career as technical professional in Central Food & Technological Institute, Mysore (CFTRI) in 1982. Then worked as Asst. Librarian in Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal from 1982 to 1986. He worked one year for Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management studies, Harihar during 1999. He is instrumental in developing automated library at TAPMI with bar-coded collections and circulation. Organized a weeklong workshop for librarians on CDS/ISIS and coordinated another state level weeklong workshop on " Preparing Academic Librarians for 21^st Century" organized by Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. He participated in IASLIC conferences and in MDP on TQM in Libraries organized by IIML at Lucknow. He published many articles in journals and presented papers in seminars and conferences.
