HOLISTIC APPROACH TO MANAGEMENT EDUCATION

Management education at TAPMI focuses on enabling the students:

  • With the fundamentals of the core and the functional disciplines; core would include economics, statistics and organization behavior while functions encompass marketing, finance, systems and human resources.
  • With tools, techniques and methodologies for applying the knowledge so imparted / gained at their work places.
  • To develop as mature and capable individuals equipped with the requisite analytical, problem solving/ decision-making, leadership and team working skills.
  • To be realistic and appreciative of the community and surroundings and their obligations towards them both as individuals and corporate citizens.
  • To experience the rewards of working in groups and teams throughout their two-year stay, thereby develop interpersonal and team working skills.

The components of our education system that contribute towards achieving the above focus comprise:
  • The Core Courses and Activities in the curriculum - particularly those on Business
Ethics, Business Awareness, Business Analysis, the NGO (Creating a Civil Corporation)  Project, the Outbound Programme, and Management-in-Practice (MIP)
  •  Student Self Assessment scheme, coupled with the Faculty Coach / Mentor System
  • Co-curricular activities such as the Brand Scan, and Atharva

The most important dimension of TAPMI has been its ability to weave the different components into a single "whole" and implement the system successfully.

What does it mean to Recruiters and Prospective Students?

It means that the graduating student of TAPMI is able to adapt and integrate himself with the employing organisations more fully and more readily.

It means that aspiring students can expect to be provided an opportunity to develop themselves into "wholesome" individuals, ready and willing to assume positions of responsibility in organisations and the society they serve.
